Who Uses Yogurt For Treating Acne?
If I had to I would use yogurt for treating acne. Let’s be realistic, there are a plethora of methods to rid yourself of acne, and all vary from person to person in their effectiveness. For instance, it’s been known that eggs are a good use against acne. However, for some people eggs will dry their skin our and irritate it more than healing it.
In other cases, toothpaste has been known to be effective. But sometimes it has side effects similar to the eggs’.
Yogurt is created through bacteria fermentation of milk. This process leads many people to believe that yogurt will cause more problems than it will solve. This is a myth however and yogurt contains bacteria that are good for your body, not bad. Any bad bacteria would be killed off by the overall acidity of the yogurt.

How Is It Used?
The best way to get yogurt to work for you is to simply eat it. The bacteria and healthy vitamins and minerals will get into your blood stream and help ward of the acne. Some people like to make a mask as a topical solution. This has mixed results, just like the eggs or toothpaste.
The Way It Works
Basically the acidity in yogurt targets the colonies of bacteria in your hair follicles that cause your oil glands to produce excess oils. It also reduces swelling, inflammation, and infection.
Is It better?
That’s a good question that I don’t necessarily have the answer too. No research has been done to conclude whether or not yogurt is a better medicine than, say, lotions and creams. However, what will it hurt to try?
Yogurt is cheap and also tasty. I don’t think anyone would break their back trying to get some yogurt and what’s the worst that could happen? It might not work for you and then you could resort to the creams, lotions, and antibiotics that cost a lot of money.
Remember, yogurt is acidic in nature so it target bacteria and kills them. It might be slightly different from person to person but can certainly help.
If you suffer from severe acne however, it’s best to consult a doctor, especially if you’re looking for a fix that’s probably faster and guaranteed effective. Doctors have for more knowledge than the average person and can tell you the right medicines for you and your situation.
As for myself, I get light acne from time to time, so will I increase yogurt consumption in my diet? Sure, I don’t see how it could hurt? I love yogurt and if I take the right vitamins and minerals as well, my light acne may even get lighter. Only time will tell, I’ll have to let you know.
